This session will be a look back on the past several years to identify and discuss valuable lessons that can help guide investors over the coming decade.

Equity management is a concept focused on helping owners determine, monitor, and protect the value of their businesses. This presentation examines an accurate and affordable method to value a financial services practice through a series of indexes and comparable transactions; how to protect equity against disaster with a properly structured continuity plan; and how to establish a separate long-range succession or retirement plan. The presentation will also address an unusually effective method to grow through acquisition, how and when to establish an internal ownership track, and how to use "equity recycling" to build greater value.   

In this session, advocacy and policy experts will discuss a breadth of relevant issues that are visible nationally and in the State of California, including a number of critical issues that will be on 2010 corporate proxy ballots. We will hear about behind-the-headline stories about the campaign to limit use of the toxic chemical bisphenol-A (BPA) and about the growing concern around the impacts of hydraulic fracturing.
